Avril Lavigne’s “Hello Kitty” Music Video Strikes a Nerve

Offending more than a few fans, Avril Lavigne released her music video for “Hello Kitty” featuring a number of racist stereotypes.
The high-energy pop clip displays a candy-filled world with a number of Asian backup dancers as Avril sips on sake and yells Japanese phrases over a J-Pop-influenced track.
Lavigne’s take on Japanese culture struck a nerve with many fans, who tweeted criticism including, "Not sure if this Avril Lavigne video is terrible, racist, or terribly racist,” and "Avril Lavigne's racist new 'Hello Kitty' video is so awful it reaches some kind of like next plateau of terribleness.”
Billboard added that the video is and “embarrassment in any language.”

What do you think??
